"ROCK'in" BACK To SCHOOL

 

What a great first week! Both staff and students did a phenomenal job getting situated and getting the ball rolling.  We thank you for your support and flexibility as we work out some of the hiccups to ensure our WILDCATS have a great experience at "The Rock!"As you will see below, we ROCKed it! On behalf of Split Rock Elementary, I would like to thank our amazing PTO members for the wonderful breakfast they had available for staff this morning to help celebrate the start of the 2022-2023 school year. 

Positivity Project

We will kick off our Positive Project Program as students will work through the introductory week, which focuses on the "Other People Mindset (OPM).

Bus Drills

All students who arrive on the bus will be going through bus safety drills next week upon arrival. Our bus drivers will review bus safety procedures and expectations followed by emergency protocols and procedures. 

Universal Screening

All students (Grade 1-4) will be screened in the subject areas of literacy and math next week. Grade level teams and staff will utilize the data collected to help drive our instruction when looking at our interventions and extensions as a part of our Multied Tiered System of Support, known as Team Time, which is an allotted 50-minute block where each student receives Tier II instruction. 

Breakfast/Lunch

Families who qualify for free or reduced-price meals must complete the necessary application and meet income qualifications to receive free meals. Households who do not qualify must resume paying for breakfast and lunch. Be sure to visit our website at westgensee.org and click the Food Services link for more information.

Breakfast:

Students needing breakfast will be dismissed from buses/cars at 8:50am. Students should notify the driver when being picked up that he/she will need to be let off for breakfast upon arrival.

School Patrol Officer

We would like to welcome Officer Timothy MacDerment, to Split Rock Elementary. Officer MacDerment is our new School Patrol Officer (SPO) and will be in the building working with both staff and students each school day! We are excited to have him a part of our building and look forward to working with him throughout the year!

THANK YOU SPLIT ROCK TEACHERS AND OFFICE STAFF! We raised $1,116 at our Scholastic Book Fair last spring and were able to use that money to purchase all of our teachers and office staff a special "welcome back" gift! We also provided breakfast for all of the Split Rock Staff this morning as a “thank you” for all that they do for our children.

10/6: First PTO meeting at 6pm in the SR Library
