Getting Ready To ROCK!
September 7th is right around the corner and I wanted to check in! Things are ROCKing and we are getting geared up for what will be a wonderful 2021-2022 school year. By now you should have received Split Rock's summer mailing with a great deal of information regarding much of the pertinent information you will need to know for the start of the school year. If you have any questions or concerns as we inch closer to opening day please do not hesitate to contact the office at 315 487-4656 for any clarifications! We are extremely excited to kick things off and get our WILDCATS back into the building.
Split Rock Elementary will open its doors on Monday, August 30th from 9:00am-2:00pm for any students and their families who would like to tour the building on their own and locate their classrooms. Please note that the classrooms will be locked as many teachers will not be in the building. This would also be a good time to stop by the main office and get issued a car tag for those looking to pick up and drop off their child.

It has been determined that our Curriculum/Title 1 Night will be virtual this year. We will be sure to keep you updated. You will receive information on specific times and procedures throughout the first two weeks of school.
*As of now, we do plan to have our Parent-Teacher Conferences scheduled in November in person!
There are still several Chromebooks that need to be returned from those who were learning remotely last year. We ask that you do not wait until the first day of school to return them. Each Chromebook must be cleaned and updated to make sure they are fully functional. If you happened to still have a district-owned Chromebook please return it to the main office ASAP.

Health Forms
We will not be doing temperature checks and/or collecting Health Forms before students entering the building.
Masks
Masks are required for both staff and students. Mask breaks will be given throughout the day. Students are not required to wear their masks during outdoor activities (recess, Phys. Ed. etc.). If you prefer to have your child wear their mask during that time, please contact your child's teacher.
Social Distancing
Students will be socially distant throughout the day. All seats, including the cafeteria, are separated by three feet from the center of the body to the center of the body!
Handwashing/Sanitizing
We will remain very vigilant and focus on handwashing or sanitizing as both staff and students go about their day.
Signs or Symptoms
Best practice is to keep your child home if they are experiencing any of the signs or symptoms below. Contacting Mrs. Balcourt (school nurse) to inform her of the status of your child would be helpful as both parties would be able to discuss the next steps to first ensure your child's health and safety and go through the correct procedures to return to school.

Drop Off (9:00am) Bottom Lot
Parents may begin lining up at 8:50am. Note students will not be let out of the cars until 9:00am.
Please wait patiently in line and do not pass cars that still might be dropping students off.
Please be sure to turn right as you exit the parking lot.
Pick-up (3:15pm) Bottom Lot
Parents may begin lining up at 3:05pm.
- Make sure your car tag is visible for staff to see upon entering the parking lot (rearview mirror works best).
- Your child will be dismissed when your car has reached the pick-up and drop-off zone.
- Please do not pass cars on the left if you happen to load before the car in front of you.
- Please be sure to turn right as you exit the parking lot.

Breakfast will be prepared ahead of time and available upon entering the building. Students will be able to bring their bag breakfast to class and enjoy it in their classrooms!

Special Area Classes
Special area classes will be held in the gym, library, music and art rooms this year.
