I would like to wish everyone a Happy Holiday Season! It is certainly my hope that everyone will be able to enjoy the time with friends and family and take a well-deserved break! We will be ready to ROCK when we return to school on January 3rd, but until then relax, enjoy and .......

We have begun our "Amazing Reading Race". The "race" started on Monday, December 20 and will end on January 4th. All our Split Rockers have received a reading log, map and a list of books to get started. The goal of the "race" is for students to read in print or electronic stories from the continents around the globe. The stories can be fiction, non-fiction and written by authors from different continents. There is no required amount of time students need to read each day. They can read independently, with siblings or adults. Every student that participates will receive a prize and one student will be drawn from each class to win a special prize. 

A special thanks to the PTO and Mrs. McGuire and Mrs. Felty for helping organize and run this event!

Positivity Project 

Upon our return, our Positivity Project Character Strength focus will be "OPTIMISM." Click here to get some background on what the students will be working on and talking about during our first week back.

Dress For The Weather

Our students will continue to go outside for recess and physical education class. If the temperature is 20 degrees Fahrenheit or above, recess can and will take place outside. If the temperature is below 20 degrees Fahrenheit (this includes factoring in the WINDCHILL), recess will be indoors. Please be sure to send your child daily with the appropriate clothing for the weather: Coat, boots, snow pants, hat, and gloves. 

Extra Clothes

Our collection is a bit depleted. If your child has happened to borrow clothing from the nurse's office (pants, shirt, gloves, socks etc.) it would be greatly appreciated if they could be returned for others to use when needed. 

Kindergarten Registration 

Kindergarten Registration for the 2022-2023 school year opened virtually on December 1, 2021, and will go until March 31, 2022. This will allow our families to register their children from the comfort of their home or office. Please click here to start the Virtual Registration process. This will schedule a telemeeting with you.

 When registering, parents should be prepared to upload the following:

·                     proof of residency (ie. mortgage or property statement or signed lease agreement)

·                     proof of immunizations

·                     proof of age

A physical examination is also required and a dental certificate is requested for entry into kindergarten. These examinations should be done up to one year prior to the first day of school. Children who enter kindergarten this fall must be five years of age on or before December 1, 2022.

Save the Date for January's PTO Meeting

Our next PTO meeting will be held on Monday, January 10 at 6:00 p.m. in the Split Rock library. Please note that this is a date change from the original schedule.
