Week In Review
Our first full week is in the books! There is no doubt that many of our Split Rockers will need to take advantage of the weekend! I am fortunate to have the opportunity each day to walk the halls, stop into the classroom and see the many great things taking place. This week, both staff and students began working through the math and literacy curriculum and our fall universal screeners for all students. With that, our grade level teams had their first organizational meetings to prepare for our Collective Responsibility approach of Tier II instruction during our allotted Team Time blocks throughout the day. So, as you can see, things are starting to ramp up and are in motion to ensure we maximize our opportunities for all and ensure high levels of success and growth for all students! Here are some of these in action!
Although we could not physically be in the building with everyone, our Curriculum/Title 1 Night was a huge success. I want to thank all of those who participated and were able to log in to their session. Staying updated and connected is imperative to ensure success and growth for your child.
It is important to remember that if your child's primary source of transportation is the bus and you happen to need to pick him/her up, you must send in a note with your child indicating that. This is because buses are now being dismissed simultaneously and if there is no note, your child's teacher is under the impression they are taking the bus.
Evacuation and Safety Drills
As state regulations suggest, we must complete a certain number of both evacuation and safety drills throughout the fall season. So with that, we will begin those starting next week. The staff at Split Rock takes the time to explain the procedures and prepare the students so they are as comfortable as possible. It would be helpful, especially for our younger Split Rockers, to discuss at home that they will begin to go through some of these practice drills.
Let's see those SMILES! Picture Day will be taking place on Wednesday, September 22! Informational packets have been sent home, so be sure you have everything you need before their appointment!
Save the DateSpecial Referendum Project 2021
At the Board of Education meeting last night, Assistant Superintendent for Management Services, Christine DeMass, kicked off the Special Referendum Capital Project along with architects from King & King sharing details about the project.

Be on the lookout for more information about an upcoming Community Forum to be held on Monday, November 15, and please save the date for the vote on the referendum which will be held on Monday, December 6.
Classroom Coordinator and Party Volunteer Sign Ups
Throughout the year, our classroom teachers like to celebrate with their students. We are looking for volunteers to help make these celebrations fantastic! For each classroom, we are looking for a classroom coordinator (to find out the teacher's needs for each party) and various volunteers to send in supplies (such as snacks, drinks, crafts) for each of the planned activities. If you would like to help make your child's classroom parties fun and exciting, please use the corresponding classroom link below to sign up!
